New additions on the farm

We have had a very busy few days here at Barnacre, and unlike us we were out Friday night and Saturday hence the lack of blog.

Friday we had visitors (well the alpacas did), I forgot to ask for permission so they will have to remain nameless, for a little while anyway...  We really enjoy showing people our alpacas and despite the damp afternoon it was good.  We had just left Lady Godiva when I noticed that Lucia had opted to pass on her tea which I thought was a little suspicious.

She was at the far side of the field so off I set to investigate, pursued by Paul and our visitors! It's a good job I did as not only had Lucia given birth, the cria had somehow managed to get through the fence.  A solid blue black boy from Loki!  The weather was very damp indeed and seeing as Lucia's baby was still wet I decided that they could spend the night in the shed.

Our visitors were very pleased to see the new baby, Lucia was very happy to show her new man off.

After we were sure all was well with the latest Barnacre addition we headed off for a bite to eat and chat alpaca.  It was a lovely night which we all enjoyed.

On Saturday morning we actually woke to sunshine for a nice change, so Lucia and her son went out to rejoin the rest of the herd.  Paul managed to catch this great family shot, in front (on the right) we have Mary with her 2012 daughter Liberty and close behind (on the left) is Lucia, Mary's 2010 cria and her new son - who somebody heard about on Twitter and already has their eagle eye on - don't you J!

Saturday afternoon say us over at the Cambo village fete.  We are always made to feel very welcome there and our alpacas and knitwear are always a great talking point.  Thanks to everyone who came to see and talk with us and admire/purchase our exclusive knitwear, we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Last night we were at a 40th birthday party which was a nice change, so no blog again - shocking!! As ever with Barnacre there is always a twist and on the way to the party we picked up a motorbike pillion passenger who wasn't feeling too good at the side of the road - hope you are feeling better now!

Today we had an appointment first thing, they Gill, Ross and Taylor came over for a bit more fencing.  They have become great friends since meeting us whilst we were out with the alpacas a few years ago.

Taylor came with pictures for Paul and me, whilst Gill bought us some excellent alpacas (more of that another night) and Ross had made us this fab wedding anniversary present, a brilliant wellie holder...

Then this evening we had a very nice couple on an alpaca experience (Twitter followers will know them as @csimpson019 and @rachaellynd) where did a walk and talk.  Thanks to Chris and Rachael who also offered their expert view on some exciting 'pictures' that will be unfolding in the blog in the coming weeks - they have the inside track on you now!
